Wondering what to wear with green pants? I’m sharing my favorite ways to style olive green pants and forest green pants for every season.
This year the focus in my wardrobe has been investing in mostly neutral pieces that I can mix and match. As a mom, I need EASE every day and I have been loving how pulled together I look most days and how easy it is with even less items in my closet.
So, today, I want to talk about how to style one of my favorite pairs of green pants. And yes, in my book, green is absolutely a neutral. While I typically stick to a more neutral palette, there’s some opportunity to pull in some more color as you’ll see below.
For our green pants—I bought these Colette pants back in the fall and I am obsessed with them—I now have them in corduroy, denim and this lovely green. They’re classic, flattering and this material is so lightweight for spring and summer, I know you guys will love it too. They’ve also been a top seller the past few weeks, so I see you guys are already getting on board! If you already have a pair of green pants in your wardrobe, try those first!
For this post, I styled these wide-leg cropped pants several different ways, but this would work with any green pants. I have a pair of olive green trousers that could easily be swapped. When choosing your green, I would opt for a dark, olive green or one with a khaki undertone. This keeps it pretty neutral and makes it easy to wear with so many different things. Let’s style them!
What to Wear with Olive Green Pants
With a White Button-Up Shirt
Green Pants | White Top | Sandals
A classic look that’s perfect for anytime of the year. You could wear a simple plain white button-down in a cotton or linen material, or grab this one with pretty embroidered detail. You can style this tucked in or not, personally I like how tucked in gives more shape to my body, but the oversized look is also very cool. Even a half-side tuck would be really cool.
I paired it with these black strappy sandals that are so comfortable and an amazing price, but sneakers or brown sandals would work great here too.
With a Black Tank

If you love a good tank top, you need to grab this one ASAP—I shared my love for it over here on my Substack. Amazing price, fits like a glove and so soft. I love that it’s long enough to tuck in easily too.
Another simple, but classic look, and honestly, this might be my favorite way to wear it. Add some gold jewelry or statement earrings and your favorite bag and you’re set for summer.
With a Blue Shirt
Green Pants | Blue Top, similar | Heels
Blue and olive green go together SO well. It’s classic, but by pairing different styles of blue tops, you can totally change the look and feel of your outfit.
I just ordered this denim shirt, but it hasn’t arrived yet, but you can bet I’ll be wearing that with these pants, some sneakers and a baseball hat for a casual cool outfit soon! In the meantime, I paired it with this embroidered top and some heels. This would be great for lunch or dinner out and even the office. Sézane makes the most beautiful tops, so I included a few more favorites since this one is old.
With a Lilac Floral Top

I promised you some color and here it is! This is one of the brightest pieces in my closet right now. Green and lilac are such a pretty, feminine combination and mixing in the floral too—perfection. The sleeves on this shirt give it a little bit of a boho look that I adore.
With a Floral Top
Green Pants | Floral Top, love this one | Sandals
This is sort of a twist on the white top with green pants. If you have some white tops with a small print (floral or anything else really), this is a fun way to mix up this outfit. Just make sure your florals coordinate with the green.
With an Eyelet Top
Green Pants | Eyelet Top, similar | Sandals
What can I say? I love a good white shirt and there’s a reason I have several in my closet in different styles. A pretty eyelet top is a great way to dress up this outfit and give it a bit more interest. Whether your top is sleeveless, short sleeve or long-sleeve, this totally works.
With Stripes

Lastly, stripes are another great pairing for olive green pants. I try to stick with something simple like navy and white or black and white for a classic look. It adds another element to your outfit and chances are you have some stripes in your closet already!
What to Wear with Green Pants for Fall & Winter
Oversized Blazer
If you’re looking for a work outfit or an outfit for a night out, this one is perfect. These dark green pants are cozy and warm for chilly days and look so chic. Pair with a simple black top, oversized blazer and heels or ankle boots for a cute and stylish fall or winter look.
With Navy
If you’re wondering what other colors to pair with green pants, navy is another great option. This neutral mixes well with dark forest green and olive green. For this simple cold weather outfit, I paired a navy cashmere sweater with an oversized coat and simple slides.
Casual & Sporty
This is the type of outfit you’ll find me in most of the time. Something easy and comfortable! Functional, yet stylish. Pair your outfit with your favorite sneakers, throw on a baseball hat and an oversized coat to pull it all together.

Chunky Sweater
Another classic, a chunky sweater with clogs or mules. This works for the office or everyday wear. I love the suede look that adds warmth and a touch of boho to this look.
