Summer Street Style

It’s back to reality today and while I’m sad our trip is over already, I’m looking forwarding to being in Chicago for the next few weeks and getting back into a normal routine.

I’m heading to Knoxville in mid-August to visit my youngest sister, but until then I’m catching up on life and work. With a relaxing trip to the beach under my belt, I’m finding it a bit easier to find a balance between work and play. Trips like this always force me to slow down and remind me to do the same when I get home! You?

I get similar feelings of slowing down and enjoying life when fall comes. Summer always ends up being so crazy and hectic, but fall?

It’s my happy place.

Yes, it’s still super hot, and no, I’m not at all ready to say goodbye to summer, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has reminded me that fall isn’t that far away. I did some shopping before I left town and scooped up this plaid coat, this light jacket, these versatile booties and this cozy sweater from Dreamers by Debut. When fall hits, I pretty much live in skinny jeans and sweaters, so it’s only natural that I stock up early. This sweater fits a bit oversize, which I love, and is super soft. It comes in two different colors (green and white) and I’m already regretting not ordering the cranberry color too, which sadly, already sold out.

Since it’s still hot, I’m not pairing jeans withthis sweater just yet, but it’s been perfect for cooler summer days. I wore it recently with jean shorts and sneakers for a casual look.

If v-neck isn’t your thing, Dreamers by Debut also has cowl neck and turtleneck sweaters too—also available during the sale and all under $50!

Do you love fall as much as I do? What items have you stocked up on during the sale?

BTW, when you fall short, and my favorite soup to make in fall.
