I’m laughing a bit to myself that my 5 Things (recently changed to 5 Shots) posts are already evolving into a series that mostly has to do with food. The reason for that is probably a few things. The first is the more obvious one — I really like to eat good food! Secondly, I love taking pictures of food. If you’ve been following along from the early years, you might know that I used to have a food blog. I went to culinary school for one semester and I’ve always loved it. In fact, that’s what got me into blogging in the first place. The pictures were pretty bad back then, but I’ve come a long way and I really enjoy it. So heads up, Friday’s posts might start making you drool — sorry I’m not sorry.

These five snaps were taken at The Allis at Soho House Chicago. I recently joined and have been loving working there several times a week. It’s such a nice break from my home office. This week, Shaheen joined me for a workday and lunch before we snapped some pictures. The lunch was delicious and I can’t wait to eat this chopped salad again! Side note, I switched out the ranch for balsamic vinegar and it was amazing. Definitely a must try if you’re in West Loop for lunch.

Oh, and the name change! Five shots made more sense because plenty of times I’m taking shots at the same place!

Yum! That salad looks delicious and I love the name change. I have yet to go to Soho House but now it looks like a must!

If you change your post’s name and content to “five foods” I wouldn’t mind AT ALL! Happy weekend to you :)

I love Soho House. I’ve been debating very strongly applying since the dogs can make it hard to work from home. Plus I’ve heard (and seen with you shots) that the food at the Allis is amazing. Anytime I’ve met people at Soho House I’ve always eaten on the fifth floor and their mac ‘n cheese and grilled octopus FLOORED ME!
