5 Ways to Make Life Simpler

How to Make Life Simpler

Thanks to Walmart, a brand I love and trust, for sponsoring this post. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make The Fox & She possible!

We’re coming up on one of my favorite weeks of the whole year! That funny week between Christmas and the start of the new year that feels like vacation at home. I can’t wait to hang out with my boys, cook lots of yummy meals and spend some time getting my thoughts organized for the new year.

This year was filled with lots of change, but now that we’re in our own home, slowing down and making life simpler and more enjoyable is high on my list. Here are a few of my best tips for making life simpler!

How to Make Life Simpler

Schedule Your Week in Advance

I love taking a short chunk of time on Sundays, usually while the boys are napping, to sit down and get my week scheduled. My time is limited, so if I come into the week with a plan, I feel less stressed and I’m more productive.

I start by brain dumping everything into one list then grabbing my calendar and popping things in where they fit. Most weeks I don’t get to everything, but I’m able to prioritize what really needs to happen.

Have it Shipped—FREE

This year was definitely the year of getting  stuff shipped, and what’s better than getting stuff shipped for free? A few months ago, we signed up for the Walmart+ membership, and I’m so excited to hear they added a new benefit—Walmart+ FREE SHIPPING! Walmart+ free shipping, no order minimum (excludes oversized/freight & Marketplace items) which allows members to receive free next-day or two-day shipping on items from Walmart.com! As a Walmart+ member, you also get free delivery from your store with a minimum of $35 (restrictions apply), member prices on gas at Walmart, Sam’s Club, & Murphy stations, and mobile scan & go for touch-free shopping in-store. And, as always, you get the same everyday low prices you expect from Walmart.

The addition of the free shipping is HUGE! I can’t tell you how many times I realize I’ve forgotten something at the last minute (mom brain!) and knowing I can have it shipped without any extra cost is so nice. To top it off, the free shipping has no minimum, so whether you’re ordering a bunch of essentials, or that one item you forgot—hello, diapers—it’s always free. Oversized/freight and marketplace items are excluded from the free delivery, but everything else ships free.

The Walmart+ membership is only $98 a year or $12.95 a month. If you’re ready to test it out, you can get a 15-day free trial right now!

The free shipping is such an amazing new benefit for members! Not only does it make life simpler, but also more affordable.

Meal Plan on Sundays

I started this a few years ago and it is a game-changer. Actually, I forgot to do it a few weeks ago and it was a disaster! It doesn’t take much time, makes for less trips to the store and smoother nights knowing exactly what I’ll be cooking.

Be Grateful

Starting each morning by focusing on a few things you’re grateful for puts you in the best mindset for the rest of the day. I know that when I focus on all the wonderful things in my room, it leaves less room for the negative and in turn makes life feel blissful and simple.

Get Organized

Lastly, there’s nothing better than having an organized home to make life feel easier. I find that actual, visual clutter causes mental clutter. When our house is clean and organized, so is my brain. And, a clear mind always feels good.
