Well guys, this is it. I’m checking out early for the weekend. Which is awesome, but since this week was a short one, I really really can’t complain! Like I mentioned yesterday, I’m headed to my friend Amy’s bachelorette party in MEXICO! I’m looking forward to relaxing and getting a tan. Expect more on that trip in the next couple of weeks! 4. Rob came home from the grocery with a fresh pineapple this week and I couldn’t help but snap a photo, pineapple is one of my all time favorite fruits, ever.

3. On Tuesday we had weird weather. I also went to the christening of the Chicago Elite yacht. It was so much fun and great to catch up with my blogger friends that I hadn’t seen in some time. The city looked gorgeous (just before the downpour)!

2. It was so fun to catch up with Kit, Jess, Lauren, Emily and Kelly and sip champagne on a pretty afternoon!

1. And one more from that night. The lighting was too pretty! I wore this darling shirtdress from Anthropologie that I picked up earlier that day at their Michigan Ave store. I always love going into that one! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It’s been a while since my last five snaps, but I’ve been shooting more pictures than normal, so I figured I’d bring it back! Here’s a peek inside my week!

1. Peonies – these beauties are in season! I picked them up on Monday and have been enjoying watching them fully bloom all weekend! P.S. Did you know that fresh flowers are actually good for your health? #sorryRob

2. Simple Lunches – I talked about how I’ve been simplifying life lately on Wednesday. This was the lunch counterpart to that outfit.

These calf hair wedge espadrilles have already been worn several times. They’re so comfortable and go with everything.

4. Settling In
We’re finally really getting settled in. I hung up all the pictures on the wall this week and still want to get a plant like this one for our bedroom, but it feels so much more like home!

5. Oliver
I think he gets annoyed when I take pictures of him like this, but he’s just too dang cute to not! He’s finally getting used to our new place, but still doesn’t like the turf in our dog run.

1. Wandeleur Launch: I’ve talked about this project before and Wandeleur finally launched this past Monday. So far we’ve gotten really great feedback and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads us. We’ve got some really awesome stuff coming for you over the next few months, so make sure to visit often! P.S. I actually haven’t popped this just yet, I wanted to wait for the weekend!

2. Peach-Hued Roses: I picked these beauties up for just $3.99 at Trader Joe’s yesterday and they are making the nasty weather a little bit brighter. I threw in a few eucalyptus branches and it smells heavenly — very spa-like!

3. Nike Free 5.0: I’ve been wearing Nike Free’s since they first came out, but I hadn’t tried the training version. I wore these during an NTC workout last week and I’m obsessed with the neon and grey coloring of these. Heads up, I ended up wearing a half size smaller than I normally do in sneaks.

4. Joy Dravecky Jewelry: I wore two of her pieces in yesterday’s post and love the simple dainty pieces she creates. I absolutely love this bronze shark’s tooth! It makes me feel a little bit more edgy and also makes me wish I knew how to surf (is that weird?!).

5. Oliver: It’s been a while since he’s made an appearance over here. He’s been my little companion all week and sleeps on the couch while I’ve been up late working. I love this inquisitive look he gives me!

This past week I was lucky enough to be invited to have lunch at NoMi Chicago! I hadn’t been for lunch before and I was extra excited because it was scheduled for Monday, and we all know how Mondays can usually be. The food, service and interior were impeccable and the company and view were just as amazing! I look forward to coming back again soon, but for dinner and drinks next time!

1. A spinach and quinoa salad with a ball of freshly pulled mozzarella. Kind of wish I had gotten this too because it looked so tasty!

2. Tea, because I’m still getting over a virus from last week and this is the only thing that makes my throat feel better.

3. Grilled chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. The crunchy green beans here gave it such a unique texture and flavor! I’ve been cheating on my gluten-free diet real bad lately. More on that later.

4. Fries. Always get fries.

5. Lastly, the view at NoMi is spectacular. Even better in the summer, I’m sure, but definitely worth a stop by if you’re in town for a weekend and if you live in Chicago, just go, thank me later.

I’m laughing a bit to myself that my 5 Things (recently changed to 5 Shots) posts are already evolving into a series that mostly has to do with food. The reason for that is probably a few things. The first is the more obvious one — I really like to eat good food! Secondly, I love taking pictures of food. If you’ve been following along from the early years, you might know that I used to have a food blog. I went to culinary school for one semester and I’ve always loved it. In fact, that’s what got me into blogging in the first place. The pictures were pretty bad back then, but I’ve come a long way and I really enjoy it. So heads up, Friday’s posts might start making you drool — sorry I’m not sorry.

These five snaps were taken at The Allis at Soho House Chicago. I recently joined and have been loving working there several times a week. It’s such a nice break from my home office. This week, Shaheen joined me for a workday and lunch before we snapped some pictures. The lunch was delicious and I can’t wait to eat this chopped salad again! Side note, I switched out the ranch for balsamic vinegar and it was amazing. Definitely a must try if you’re in West Loop for lunch.

Oh, and the name change! Five shots made more sense because plenty of times I’m taking shots at the same place!
