The Travel Bag Every Girl Needs

All these cool, crisp days are reminding me that the holidays are just around the corner, and for us that means a whole lot of travel is on the horizon! Since neither of our families live in Chicago, we travel for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We love it, and having the right pieces make traveling that much easier.

One travel essential I never leave without is a good carry-on bag that has space for a computer and all my random bits and pieces. I’ve seriously fallen in love with this Duchess of Windsor bag from India Hicks. First and foremost, it’s gorgeous and incredibly well-made! The neutral colors go with everything and adding one or two of the Agra tassels gives the bag even more personality. The tassels can also double as key-chains — not bad for a stocking stuffer, right? I really love that the interior of the bag is light in color so I can find everything. This makes staying organized a breeze!

When traveling, I typically carry my calendar, a small makeup bag for touch-ups, a light-weight scarf (I’m always cold), another small pouch for hair ties and random pieces of jewelry, my camera and my laptop (my AirBook fits perfectly) and this bag has room for all of it!

The Duchess of Windsor bag gets just as much use when I’m not traveling too. I usually work from a coffee shop at least once a week and having a cute bag to tote around makes things simple. Last week I threw on this casual fall outfit, this hat and this travel bag for an out-of-the-office work day.
