Rob and I went to Paris for the very first time three or four years ago—I can’t remember exactly. We’d done a fair amount of traveling together and on our own, but surprisingly enough, neither of us had made it to the city of lights. And if I’m being honest, I didn’t really care. I prided myself on visiting lesser known places and thought that people talked Paris up too much, so when we finally went, I didn’t have the highest of hopes.
I couldn’t have been proven more wrong.

You’ve probably heard people say it before, but Paris is truly one of the most beautiful cities that I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The architecture alone is breath-taking, but when you pair it with the history, gorgeous parks, sidewalk cafes and lively atmosphere all around you, it’s really unparalleled. After our first visit when I became entranced, I’d been dying to go back and was so excited when we added it as a final stop on our trip. Confession—the real reason we added Paris to the end was to go to the Bon Iver concert, but a few weeks before we left, he cancelled the entire European Tour—whomp whomp. I was bummed, but also not really because we were still going to Paris!

On this particular day, it was cold. Like so damn cold, I could barely be bothered to take my jacket off for a photo, but this neutral look seemed so fitting for the city, especially during the winter, that I had to snap a few photos. Oh, and this cable knit sweater is almost sold out and would be perfect for the early spring months when it’s still a bit chilly.

We visited most of the tourist things on our first trip, but we actually hadn’t done much walking around the gardens by the Louvre or popped in to the Palais Royal to see those fun striped columns.
Despite this easily being the coldest day of our trip, it was still pretty awesome. I mean, it is Paris after all!
Have you visited Paris before? What are your feelings on the city?
BTW, a peplum tee in Porto, and a pleated skirt in Lisbon.
