leather jacket outfit

I had high hopes of this past trip being exceptionally warm. For weeks before we left, I’d check the temperatures in Portugal, crossing my fingers they were warmer than Chicago. Thankfully, they were! But, when we got there, I was quickly reminded that even though we had temperatures in the 50s each day, that doesn’t exactly mean it’s warm. Nevertheless, I packed a skirt and a few sleeveless tops and hoped for the best.

Thankfully, it was sunny nearly everyday we were gone, with the exception being the day we left Paris—it was so foggy that it was a miracle we weren’t delayed for hours. You couldn’t even see the terminal across from us!

One of our first days in Lisbon was particularly warm, okay, I’m using the term warm pretty loosely because it was still in the high 50s-60s, but I decided to go for it and wore this skirt. Other than my few shoots inside the conservatory, it’d been a long time since I’d bared my ankles and oh-my-goodness it felt good. This was also one of my favorite days of our entire trip, more of which I’ll be sharing in my travel guide to Lisbon, but if you’ve ever considered going to Lisbon, do it. It’s a stunning and beautiful city and we’ll definitely be making a trip back.

I’m in love with this two-toned pleated skirt and it’s bright springy colors! I also loved how it looked paired with a simple v-neck sweater, leather jacket, rosy pink scarf and white sneakers for a day of exploring. When the weather gets warmer, I’ll be wearing this same skirt with a silk cami (this brand is a new favorite and is super affordable) and sandals. Here’s to hoping that day comes sooner than later!

What’s your go-to outfit for a day of exploring a new city? Are you traveling anywhere soon?!

BTW, what to wear on long distance flights, and a spring midi dress.
