How was your weekend?! It took me nearly all of yesterday to go through all of my emails. When I leave town I pretty much turn technology (other than Instagram) off. It’s so nice to have a few days to disconnect and decompress. We were in Portland for our friends’ wedding which was a total blast. Their band was incredible and kept the party going nonstop for hours. Needless to say, my feet were killing me after several hours of stomping around and jumping in heels to the music.
The rest of our trip was great! Rob was in the wedding so we actually had a lot of time apart, but I got to spend time with friends from Denver. We did a fair amount of shopping, eating and drinking, but also managed to get in a little hiking at Forest Park on our last day. It’s so gorgeous up there! If you’re visiting Portland, make sure to go! My favorite of the shops was Made Here PDX — a shop filled with items made my local artisans. These carafes/pitchers are on my list now. As for food, my favorite spots we ate at were Prasad, a super healthy lunch spot, and Isabel in the Pearl District for brunch, though their lunch looked really good too. We also visited a few breweries, like Deschutes, TILT (awesome burgers too) and 10 Barrel, but didn’t make it to Willamette Valley — that’s definitely on the list for the next trip!
Now that Labor Day Weekend is in the rearview mirror, I feel like fall is actually here! It might still be warm, but the mood around town seems to have changed a bit. There’s not nearly as many tourists walking around, kids are back in school and I feel a lot more relaxed. What about you? I’m even making myself get back into a better workout routine which started with hot yoga last night at Core Power Yoga.
Summer is so crazy that these changes are gladly welcomed here! A few things I’ve recently added to my fall bucket list? Learn how to make an easy pie crust, go on hour long walks with Oliver (until it’s too cold), learn how to make a killer latte and figure out snapchat — I just joined and my username is ‘thefoxandshe’ so follow along! There’s guaranteed to be lots of cute snaps of Oliver!
Lastly, I’ve rounded up 15 amazing and beautiful plaid scarves that are under $100. Actually about half of them are under $50, so get excited and start your fall shopping — make sure to check out this guide to fall essentials as well!
P.S. Don’t you love that it’s already Wednesday? One of the best parts of long weekends in my opinion.
Oversized and cozy! Yes, please! Love the fun pops of color in this ASOS scarf.
Neutrals go with everything and I love that the opposite side has a different pattern, just added this one to my wardrobe!
I scooped this soft scarf up during the Nordstrom sale, but it’s still incredibly well-priced!
I love this poncho-style scarf from Anthro worn as outerwear!

Icy blues and greys are a nice change from warm tones.
Another poncho-style scarf that’s reminiscent of one of my favorite blanket scarves last year.
The ideal scarf for the Christmas holidays! Pair it with a black felt hat and cozy ivory sweater for stylish casual look.
