That 70’s Vibe
Guys, I love September — for several reasons!
So let me tell you about them.
School’s in session. Summer is amazing and I really try to soak it up living in Chicago, but it’s so hard for me to stay focused and get work done, especially when you work from home. Summer is non-stop parties, activities and traveling and fall is like a breath of fresh hair! My social life changes from late night rooftop parties to afternoons full of football games and I feel like I can get back into a more normal routine and I like a good routine, it make me feel balanced — you?
Fall Style. September means I can start mixing in fall styles and fall is my most favorite season to dress for! Sweaters, layers and boots, oh-my! If you haven’t noticed, the 70s are back in style this season and I’m kind of loving it. I’ve seen suede button-up skirts like this everywhere and I had to get my hands on one. I opted for a bright blueish periwinkle color instead of the tan color I’d been seeing because I love the pop of color this adds to my wardrobe. I wear a lot of neutrals during the cooler months, so it’s fun to add this to the mix. I’m already picturing it with a pair of over the knee boots and that Margaret O’Leary cashmere sweater from this post — swoon!
The Weather. It’s not quite as hot as summer, but it’s not full on fall yet. It’s literally the optimal temperature for me because I’m always freezing. Light layers, skirts and booties are perfect for this weather. With just a touch of cool, crisp air at night, this weather is perfect for a few more dinners on our patio and drinks by the riverwalk.
Are you as obsessed with September (or fall in general) as I am?!
