As we get older, I’ve noticed the biggest difference in my weekend agenda is Friday nights. By Friday, I’m no longer dying to hit the town, instead, I’m exhausted and I want to chill out, grab a drink, relax and perhaps eat a yummy, but casual dinner. Is that so wrong? It makes me laugh that my bedtime on Friday night is almost always earlier than my weekday bedtime. But going to sleep without the fear of the early morning alarm clock is truly amazing. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way.

A few weekends back, we had one of these Friday nights. I met Rob for rooftop drinks at Rock Bottom — the weather was perfect and it felt so good to be outside with the sun shining on our faces. We had a couple of beers there and wandered over to one of my favorites, XOCO for a casual Mexican-inspired dinner. I’m obsessed with their carnitas caldo! After dinner we walked home, took Oliver out and then called it an early night. But to me, that’s the perfect Friday night! Does this make me old?
