Why We Make Travel a Priority
Ever since our six week backpacking trip through Europe after graduation, Rob and I knew that we had both caught the travel bug. After that trip, we continued to make travel a priority while we dated. We went to Europe and to several places within the US as well. Eventually we sealed the deal with a big honeymoon trip to Asia where we visited Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Japan. It was amazing.
We continue to make travel a priority, but every year it seems harder and harder to leave the country for weeks, even a month at a time. I’m hoping that we’ll get to go on another big trip soon. I’m really rooting for an adventurous trip! We have lots of weddings this year, but late next fall might be the perfect time! In the meantime, we’ve been making the most of short trips.
I feel closest to Rob when we’re traveling together. The responsibilities of every day life seem to fade away and allow us to focus on each other and our passions. I get to practice my photography, dream and explore a whole new place with my best friend.
This look is from our trip to Austin that we took in early January — see more from our trip here. It was a nice combination of comfortable and pulled together for a day of wandering and walking. Plus, you really can’t go wrong with a basic striped tee, right?
I was so glad I brought this trench coat because it was just cool enough in the shade for me to want it — I’m always cold! These boots are surprisingly comfortable, but if you want flats, I recommend these! I just got them and they’re comfortable and look cute with just about everything! Also, this bag was perfect — big enough to hold my camera, wallet, phone and other goodies while we explored.
