Our first stop in Asia was beautiful Thailand. We spent 5 days in Khao Lak relaxing and swimming at the picturesque Sarojin Hotel and ventured out to ride elephants (bucket list worthy) and visit a local market. It was the perfect place to recover after our wedding weekend and an exhausting 22 hours of travel. The food was awesome too!

We then spent 2 days in Bangkok which was the total opposite of Khao Lak. It was crowded & busy, but also full of culture. We visited the Grand Palace and Wat Pho on our first night and ventured out of the historic area on day two to get a feel for local life. Our first night we hung out on Khao San Road, the backpacker’s hangout. There were tons of young people and plenty of restaurants and bars. While in Bangkok, we stayed at The Siam, which is simply stunning. I could have spent an afternoon walking around the hotel finding inspiration and appreciating their attention to detail in every design element. The rooms were beautiful and incredibly comfortable and we even received a complimentary foot or scalp massage since we are on our honeymoon!

Overall, Thailand was amazing. It was great to have to very different experiences there and it was a perfect spot to kick off our big trip!
