For the first time in a long time, we have a wedding on our calendars! I’m assuming many of you are in the same boat too. I know so many brides are probably feeling a huge sigh of relief that finally their wedding plans can move forward the way they want them to. That makes me so happy for all of you in this position.
As a guest, I am excited to celebrate, enjoy friends and family and get dressed up for the occasion! The wedding on our schedule isn’t actually until September. Two of our good friends from Chicago are tying the knot in St. Louis, a place I’ve never been, except our brief passing through when I moved from Texas to Chicago about 9 years ago. I’m also looking forward to it because I’ll get to see some old friends from college too—it’s been way too long!
What to Wear to a Summer Wedding
Even though it’s not for a few more months, I’ve been looking at dresses anyway, and found a few that would be perfect for a summer wedding. I broke them down into short and midi length dresses to make it easier to find what you prefer.

These could also be worn again for engagement parties, showers or even a dressed up date night. I found this fun blue beauty that’s a bit sassy, a bit feminine and still dressy enough for a wedding. We do have our 7th wedding anniversary coming up soon, so I can always wear this one again for our date night!
I love the cut out details on the side. I’m wearing a small and I’d say it fits true to size. I’m also 5’8″ and was worried about it being too short and while it is a short dress, it’s not too short, ya know? Can’t be showing that booty at wedding!
