4 Reasons to Switch to an Aluminum-Free Deodorant
Ever since I learned about the toxic and potentially harmful ingredients found in beauty and skincare products, I’ve been actively seeking out new products that are safer and sharing them with you guys. One of the toughest switches I made and one that took me a while to finally do, was switching to natural deodorant. Why? Because I was terrified of smelling bad, ha! The fact is, all natural deodorants are not created equally, and plenty of them don’t work. But, the good news is some of them do!
For the past few weeks, I’ve been testing out Kopari’s new Coconut Deodorant and I’m obsessed! It smells amazing, goes on smoothly and doesn’t leave any residue. I used it while we were in Chicago, and then also during our trip to Miami, which was the real test since it was hot and humid there. In both situations, it held up and I’m so happy to have a new safe product in my arsenal.
If you’re on the fence about switching to a aluminum-free, safer deodorant, here’s a few reasons that might make you take the plunge.
Better For You
It wasn’t until last year that I learned that deodorants that were also antiperspirants contained aluminum. The aluminum in antiperspirants keeps you from sweating, which sounds good in theory, but sweating is your body’s natural way of ridding itself of toxins. If your body isn’t able to properly get rid of toxins, they build up and can lead to illness. Using an aluminum-free, safer deodorant like Kopari’s Coconut Deodorant, your body can function like it’s suppose to!
I already mentioned this, but it’s worth mentioning again. This coconut deodorant smells like heaven, unless for some reason you don’t love the way coconut smells! It reminds me of being at the beach, which is always a good thing in my opinion.
I think most people’s biggest fear when switching to a more natural deodorant is that it won’t work as well, but this one works incredibly well. I should mention that with an aluminum-free deodorant you will sweat because it’s not an antiperspirant. That’s normal—it’s how your body was designed to work. If you’re switching from an antiperspirant, it’ll take a week or two for your body to adjust to the new one, but hold out, it’s so worth it! I also feel like the longer I’ve been using aluminum-free deodorant, the better it works. Overall, I sweat less and my sweat doesn’t smell as bad.
Easy on Your Pits
Shaving can make your armpits dry and sensitive, and antiperspirants can make the problem even worse. Kopari’s Coconut Deodorant is basically the opposite. It’s hydrating and nourishing and after a few weeks of using it, I can feel a noticeable difference in the look and feel of my pits. It’s not summer yet, but I’ll be extra happy about that when I’m wearing sleeveless tops and dresses on the regular!
