I have to admit, this whole straight-leg jean trend has been a tough adjustment for my millennial self. Anyone else? Maybe this means I’m slowly turning into my mom and just stuck in my ways, but I just can’t get onboard yet. What can I say, I like my cropped ankle jeans and my skinny jeans!
I should also mention that I haven’t even tried on a pair, so who knows, maybe I’ll throw a pair on and completely change my mind.
Trousers to Add to your Closet
But, in general, I’m having an overall crisis identity with my jeans, and for once in my life, they’re not the first thing I’m grabbing in my closet. Usually, I can’t wait to bust out my jeans and sweaters around this time of year, but I’m honestly just not feeling it!
One trend I absolutely love right now is trousers. The long, oversized ones, the cropped version—I like them both, I just don’t want them too tailored or too baggy. It’s such a simple and chic look.
I bought this pair in a creamy white color (I think it’s gone now) earlier this summer that I adore and plan to wear with cozy neutral tops through fall and winter, and just added this long pair to my cart (still deciding between the khaki and the toffee color—why can’t I make up my mind?!), as well as this cropped pair that I actually bought earlier this summer and returned because I ordered the wrong size.
Another thing I love about trousers is that they’re not tight. I will hate on my skinny jeans a little bit here because after having two kids and working from home, putting on something tight and restricting doesn’t feel so awesome. I’m all for ease these days!
I love that you can dress up your trousers with heels, or wear them casually with sneakers which you know I’ll be doing because I’m a sneakers girl for life.
What do you think about trousers? And the straight leg jeans?!
