Relaxed Boyfriend Jeans, these run big, order a size down—also, they’re only $78! | Relaxed Poplin Shirt, fits TTS (also comes in blue and I this silk blouse would look gorgeous too) | Parke Blazer (I’m wearing a 4 year, but the 2 fit as well, I have long arms, so this fit better), I also love love this oversized blazer | Strappy Heels, the heel isn’t too high so they’re pretty comfortable and great for weddings/parties too! | Retro Sunglasses, also love this cheaper pair
The boyfriend jean used to intimidate me—I thought that no matter how I wore them, I’d look frumpy. But, I recently got this pair from Everlane and I’ve changed my tune on them. What I love about this pair is that they’re not super oversized.
They’re loose through the leg, but not gigantic. A sizing tip though, I found the this style runs a bit big so I ordered a size down from what I normally would. In my other pair of Everlane’s jeans, the mid-rise ankle jeans that I wore here, I wear my normal size or could even have gone up a size!
How to Wear Boyfriend Jeans
The tip to wearing this borrowed from the boys look is to add your own feminine, polished touches to it to balance it out.
I got several requests on Instagram to style boyfriend jeans multiple ways, so that’s what I’m doing! I hope this gives you all some ideas on how to wear regular or ripped boyfriend jeans. Personally, I typically lean towards distressed jeans, but for boyfriend jeans I like both!
3 Boyfriend Jeans Outfit Ideas
Button Down Shirt and Blazer
For the first look, I paired them with a button-down shirt and a blazer. If you work in a casual office, I think this outfit is perfect for that! Also, I think it’s great for after work drinks with your girlfriends. I haven’t bought a blazer in years and now I’m kicking myself—this one is so pretty!
Honestly, I love the green color and up close it has other color flecks in it too. I fit in the 2, but I have broader shoulders and also wanted my blazer to fit a bit looser and not so tailored, so here I’m wearing a 4.
Paired with strappy sandals, this outfit is so chic, and maybe something you could wear to work! To make this look less dressy, I’d swap out the button-up for a crisp white tee and pair it with my modern loafers or these mules that are so comfy!
Casual Sweater & Loafers
Relaxed Boyfriend Jeans, these run big, order a size down—also, they’re only $78! | Waffle Knit Sweater, boxy, oversized fit, and so soft! also love the grey | Leopard Loafers, runs a little small, order a half size up! (also love this pair and this pair that are more affordable) | Mini Cross Body Bag in Navy, perfect size for city living or travel—you can have it monogrammed as well (hint hint, great gift idea!)
The second look is ideal for the weekend or everyday wear. It’s something I’d wear on my days where I don’t have meetings or shoots, but need to get stuff done. It’s pulled together, but also really comfortable. This cashmere sweater has been on repeat the past few weeks. I love the neckline and the waffle knit pattern. It comes in a bunch of colors too (I love the grey). It has a loose fit so I’d order your normal size. I’m wearing a small here.
To give this cozy look a little something extra, I wore my leopard loafers that I adore! Just the perfect pop to an otherwise simple outfit.
Leather Bomber Jacket
Relaxed Boyfriend Jeans, these run big, order a size down—also, they’re only $78! | Striped Turtleneck, this one is from last year, but I found a similar one here and here | Faux Leather Jacket (under $100) | Royal Sneakers, run small, order 1/2 size up (I also have these in the perforated pink—worn in this post) | Retro Sunglasses
Lastly, is my most mom-friendly way to wear boyfriend jeans. Grab any striped shirt you have and add sneakers and then make it a little edgier with a leather jacket. I got a bunch of requests to style a black leather jacket too, so in the meantime, here’s one way!
These sneakers just arrived the other day and I’m obsessed with them! They look nicer than a lot of my other sneakers, which makes the whole outfit feel more pulled together and less “mom-ish,” ha! I have them in the perforated pink too and I find that they run a bit small, so order a half size up!
If you don’t have a bomber jacket, try a denim jacket instead!
If you don’t have boyfriend jeans per say, but have a pair of jeans that fits a bit looser, you can easily style those the same way, they jeans will just be a little bit more tailored and there’s nothing wrong with that!
Summer Outfit Idea
For summer, I absolutely love to wear boyfriend jeans with a crop top. Especially high-waisted ones paired with heel sandals to replicate a cool street style look.
