DIY to Try

If you know me, I love a good DIY project, but it’s been a while since I’ve taken one on and shared it. Mostly because my summer has been packed and Saturdays that used to be reserved for projects are now filled with summer festivals, beach trips and sand volleyball games. However, fall will soon be upon us and I always have some free time at night, so here are the next few projects I’m hoping to get started (and hopefully finished) in the next few months.

Most involve home improvement/decorationing, is that a word? The dining room has been one room that I just haven’t put much effort into and because it’s not very exciting, I don’t like spending time in there. Let’s hope before winter sets in I’ve fixed it up because it will be my new home away from my patio once the temperatures drop!

  1. DIY Geode Bottle Stoppers from Cupcakes & Cashmere // I saw some of these wine stoppers on Anthropologie a few months back and fell in love. I thought, hey, I could do that! And then saw the DIY tutorial on Cupcakes and Cashmere about 4 days later. Just ordered these supplies and should start on this one soon!
  2. DIY Butcher Block Table from Lovely Spaces // I’ve been sketching out different ideas on how to build a buffet table for my sad-looking living room and finally came across this one! I don’t have a bunch of tools, and this one fits the bill for ease and its ‘cool’ factor!
  3. DIY Abstract Art from Oh Happy Day // I’m not much of a painter, but I think I can throw some paint on a canvas and make it look cool. I have some large pattern paintings in my living room and sometimes I think they look a bit young for the room. What do you think?
  4. DIY Silhouette Artwork from Camille Styles // I got a silhouette making book from my friend Livi for my birthday and have been meaning to turn it into some great artwork. People or animals?

Any projects you’re looking to start? Or do you have any good DIY projects I should try?
