Last week, Owen and I had our biggest outing so far. Since I’m still breastfeeding, it makes it hard to get out for more than a couple of hours, plus, I hate messing with Owen’s schedule if I don’t have to. But, mama needs a life too, so I packed up our goodies, aka, lots of extra milk, diapers and outfits and met Shaheen for a little day date with our boys.
Instead of trying to go somewhere in the city and try to find parking with all of our stuff, we went to the mall in suburbs—haha! Re-reading that makes me laugh, but it was nice to be able to easily park, pop out the strollers and walk inside. Naturally, as soon as we got out of the car, both boys woke up, but thankfully remained calm during our whole excursion. We had lunch at the Nordstrom Café and then walked around and did some shopping. I didn’t buy anything, but we just booked a long weekend trip to Miami in mid-February, so I’ve been scouting my favorite spots for swimsuits and warm weather clothing. I’m so ready for a little sunshine and a tan—my legs are probably the whitest they’ve ever been!
On our little day date, we got sunshine, but it was still pretty chilly so I wore this cute layered outfit. I’ve been wearing this turtleneck at least once a week! I love that it’s just a little bit fitted, but not too tight. This cardigan, that was also on my January wish list, is so stinking soft! I love the color because it goes with everything and I’ve also been wearing it like crazy. I love when I buy pieces that I get a ton of use out of! If you’re looking for another way to style this turtleneck, I wore it in this post a few weeks ago. As for the cardigan, I’ll be styling it another way very soon!
We were only gone for a few hours, but by the time we got home, I was exhausted! Getting out the house with a baby and all the extra stuff is tiring. But, it was well worth it for my sanity! Any mom knows how isolating and lonely being at home all day with a newborn can be, and getting out to meet friends and do something that makes you feel normal is so good. Personally, I know when I’m feeling more like myself, I’m a better, and calmer mom and wife!
