As soon as the holidays are over, I immediately start looking forward to spring—wishful thinking? Yes, I know. I love the snow and cold weather during Christmas and even New Year’s Day, but after that, I’m ready for sunshine and a tan! I’m sure the sub-zero temperatures we’ve had lately isn’t helping! Sadly, I have about 4 more months before Chicago might get some warm weather.
What helps? A little wardrobe refresh! Having a few fresh things to put on always puts me in a good mood! Especially since I’ve been living in the same sweaters and warm socks for weeks.
Last week, I bought and started reading “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and I plan on tackling my closet and drawers this week. I held off while I was pregnant, but now that I’m not, I feel like I can go through it with the right mindset. I might have thrown everything away if I’d tried to purge while pregnant, haha! Typically I clean out my closet on a regular basis, but it’s been so long and I know there’s plenty of pieces that I haven’t worn in a long time. Getting rid of some of the things I no longer wear will make room for a few new pieces that I really love.
This year, I’m really trying to focus on buying classic pieces that I know I’ll get a lot of use out of and pieces that I’m absolutely in love with. Fewer, but better pieces! I already snagged this denim shirt! Denim on denim is one of my favorite go-to outfits and I love the short sleeves on this one. These tan loafers and black ankle jeans, which are only $98, are next on my list. Thank goodness I have some money saved up from Christmas!
Do you look forward to spring as soon as the holiday are over? What items are on your wishlist right now?
P.S. If you’ve tried the KonMari Method, let me know how it went!! I’m very curious!
