What’s your go-to outfit for holiday parties? In past years mine was always a dress, but this year I’ve been finding myself gravitating a little bit more towards skirt and festive top combos (see more in the Holiday Guide!). Don’t get me wrong, I love a gorgeous holiday dress as much as the next girl, but if you have a lot of parties on your list, wearing a skirt and top is an easy and affordable way to switch things up and stand out.
As of right now, I have Rob’s work holiday party and a girl’s party on my schedule and I’m sure more events will pop up. I really don’t like wearing the same thing over and over again in a short period of time, so buying a top like this one that’s all black with pretty details is a great investment.
This one from Anthropologie has velvet details that make it festive and perfect for the holidays! Since it’s all black, it’s easy to change up what you’re wearing on bottom. This Anthropologie skirt is actually old, sorry, but this sweater skirt, this pencil skirt and this a-line skirt would all pair well with this top. Plus, they could all easily be worn to the office with a different top. Win win! You might also remember this plaid midi skirt from this post, which is also great from the holidays.
To keep things festive, I paired this holiday look with this fringed clutch from Kelly Wynne — an Austin-based handbag designer — and some gorgeous statement jewelry from Margaret Elizabeth. I’ve been wearing these earrings constantly and this emerald cut cocktail ring is amazing — the only thing missing from my hand is a glass of prosecco!
What holiday parties do you have on your calendar? How do you keep your holiday attire fresh and new?
