The past few weeks I’ve found myself out of the house more than I’ve been in a long time. I suppose it’s my trying to avoid the winter blues. When I spend all week at home alone, I feel pretty crappy by the end of the week, but if I’ve spent a few days getting out of the house to meet a friend for lunch or meet for a work day I always feel better. I’ve said it once, but I’ll say it again, human interaction is so good for your attitude and mental well-being! Well, at least it is for me!
A few weeks ago, I had a work day with Shaheen on Tuesday, dinner with the girls that night, and on Wednesday I went to Jess’ house for a work day. My week felt so much busier than normal, but it was the good kind of busy. You know what I’m talking about, right? The kind of busy that leaves you physically exhausted, but fills your heart and soul so much that you don’t even care. Plus, I always sleep really well when I’ve had a day or days like this and that’s always a perk!
I showed up to Jess’ house wearing this incredibly comfortable grey t-shirt dress. Jess’ first comment?! I have that dress too!! I burst out laughing because Shaheen had worn the same one just a few days before. There’s a reason we all have this dress. It’s soft, flattering and really affordable. It also comes in four colors and I think I might get the green one too. It’s the perfect weight for spring and makes me feel so much more pulled together on casual days.
I had a laugh again this past weekend, when I saw one of my friend’s girlfriends wearing it—seriously, it’s a dress that everyone needs in their closet!
It was a chilly day, so I threw on this wool moto jacket I got last year at Ann Taylor and I’m so excited, they just came out with an almost identical one here. I layered on some of my favorite necklaces, slipped on the most amazing loafers and added this bag for a pop of color. In my opinion, a little pop of color is always the perfect way to make an outfit a little bit more unique and special.
We spent our afternoon scheming and working on the focus of our next course for Blogging For Keeps. If you get our emails, you already know that it will be focused on photography and I’m so excited. Photography is my favorite part about blogging, okay, connecting with like-minded people around the world might be the best part, but it’s a close second! It’s become one of my biggest hobbies over the years and I’m really looking forward to creating a course or workshop (still up in the air) where we’ll get to teach what we’ve learned. So, if that sounds cool to you, make sure you’re signed up for our emails over on BFK!
Do you have a good t-shirt dress in your closet? Or, do you already own this dress too?!
P.S. How was your Valentine’s Day? Did you do anything special?!
