How to Decorate Your Outdoor Space
We got our outdoor furniture a few weeks ago. We have been taking full advantage of it and spending as much time as we can out there. Also, we have two separate areas which I love—one for lounging, and one for dining. I almost skipped the dining area because I wasn’t sure we’d use it. However, we’ve had many dinners out there since it arrived and the boys love eating outside too. Although, keeping Owen in his chair can be a little difficult, ha!
I shared the exact lounge furniture we got in this post. So, if you want to see what that area looks like, go check it out! I’ve seen so many cute patio pieces. So, I whipped up another design here that would be so fun and add such a pop to a small space. If the idea of an outdoor rug is weird to you, I promise it’s worth it! It grounds the space, adds a pop of color, makes it truly feel like a living area, and is softer for little feet and knees.
One thing I didn’t think about at first was what to do when it rains, which is silly because it rains nearly every afternoon for parts of the summer. I found some great covers on Amazon and just measured our pieces to make sure they’d fit. Some are slightly larger, but they get the job done and it’s so nice to pull them off and have everything nice and dry.

I also made a dining room design! The darker set of chairs are the ones we have and they are so comfortable! They’re sturdy and well-made, though you do have to put them together (don’t worry, it was really easy!). We almost got that table, but sadly, it was too wide for our narrow patio.
We’ve already used our outdoor living spaces so much and we’re just getting started. I can’t wait for more summer nights out there with a glass of wine, grilling and watching the kids play—bliss!
