I know I should be savoring every last bit of summer, but we’ve had some crisp mornings lately and I can’t help but look forward to fall. It’s my favorite season—clichés and all. While I don’t actually care for pumpkin spice lattes, I do love all other things pumpkin flavored. The smell of cinnamon and coffee in the morning paired with a cozy sweater is all I need to put me in an incredible mood.

Okay, I’m totally getting ahead of myself! But, does anyone else love fall like I do?!

One piece that I wear like crazy in the fall (and year round) is an anorak or military jacket. I’m actually not 100% sure what to call it because I’ve seen them called both. Essentially, it’s a simple olive or army green jacket. I love the weight of this one because it adds just enough warmth, making it great for spring, summer and fall, and is great for layering when winter hits. This olive green color is pretty much a neutral too, so you can be pretty sure that it’ll look great with just about any other color. Except maybe more green, ha!

For this military jacket outfit, I also wore this cute striped shirt, tassel earrings and black jeans. I’m obsessed with the hem on these jeans. It’s at an angle, but gives them such a cool, edgy look. I stuck with the pattern mixing and threw in this leopard clutch for fun. I love how all the colors and patterns look together!

I picked up my jacket at Nordstrom. It’s made by Madewell—I always love their classic basics. If you don’t already own a jacket like this, I highly recommend you invest in one! I linked to a whole bunch of them below at different price points. Some are more wintery, but I really love their fur hoods—so cute! I always feel like it pulls together some of my simpler outfits like this one and this one.

Anoraks & Military Jackets

As excited as I get on those cool mornings, I’m trying to enjoy the last bit of summer. That means heading to the pool on the weekend, dinner on the patio and spending as much time as I can outside!

Do you have a jacket in your closet that you wear as often as I wear this anorak? What plans do you have before summer ends?

BTW, day to night casual, and the best pumpkin bread.
