Last weekend was one of the most pleasant I can remember in a long time. We had plans, but everything was pretty casual, relaxed and so much fun. After being gone all week long in Georgia, some quality time with Rob and catching up with friends is exactly what I needed!
Our Friday night routine has changed so much since we first moved to Chicago. It used to consist of dinners, drinks and late nights with friends, followed by rough Saturday mornings. While those days were so much fun and I’m so happy that I had them, I honestly don’t miss them, ha! I love my sleep and I love waking up feeling energetic and rested on the weekend—especially when it’s summer.
Living in a neighborhood versus downtown just feels so much more relaxed and casual and it makes getting ready for a Friday night a breeze. Lately, I’ve been living in these comfortable chinos (also worn here and here) since it’s been in the 60s-70s the past few days. I paired it with this striped hoodie and these sandals that I can’t stop wearing, both are from Everlane and really affordable. If you’ve never checked out Everlane, I highly recommend you do! Their prices are unbeatable and the quality is amazing! It’s definitely a good place to stock up on basics!
For our night out, I made a quick shoe change (these tassel mules are on major sale!) and switched the hoodie out for this simple white tank. So easy, yet I felt much more dinner appropriate! We ended up at a nearby patio for drinks and mocktails for me and then wandered over to a friend’s house for a bit before heading to dinner at Coalfire. This might be my new favorite pizza place! It was such a nice night so we ate dinner on the patio and stopped by another friend’s house before calling it a night.
The rest of our weekend was spent lazily by the pool with friends, grabbing dinner with friends at La Josie in West Loop and enjoying brunch on Sunday morning at Southport Grocery. It was seriously such a perfect summer weekend and I hope we do it again soon!
