I’m exhausted from this week of moving and unpacking and re-decorating, but I’m also super thankful that my sweet mama came up to help me unpack and get situated. While sitting at home relaxing all weekend sounds pretty awesome, I’m actually headed to Dallas today for a conference, bridal portraits and spending whatever time in between with my family.
Our apartment is slowly turning into what I’ve imagined for it, but it’s going to take some time to get there. This rug arrived the day we moved in and a dresser and credenza arrive next week from MegMade, and I’m still waiting on the couch and saving up for a small dining table and chairs!
My vision for the new living room has been pretty clear for the past few months though! I’ve been obsessed with this rug and absolutely love it — it’s even prettier in person and Oliver loves rolling around on it. I can’t wait to see the room come together as the rest of the pieces slowly make their way home. This painting here is actually one of Joyce Howell’s, an artist I adore! I’m planning on using a similar color scheme to paint one for us. The new tenant in my old place bought the one I had originally painted for the living room, so it’s time for a replacement!
The last thing in here will likely be the chairs. I would love some sort of ikat or patterned blue and white fabric to recover some chairs, but I’m going to have to wait until I find the right fabric and save a little more to bite the bullet there. I like to think of my home as an ever-evolving space though, so I guess that’s just as well! What do you think of the living room thus far?
