Our third country on our honeymoon was Hong Kong. After being in Vietnam, Hong Kong was a nice change of pace. It’s very westernized and honestly, feels like a bit like home — especially after being somewhere as different as Hanoi and HaLong Bay. We used Air B&B for our accommodations here and had a wonderful experience. If you haven’t tried them yet, we highly recommend it! It’s great for unique places to stay and the prices are good too!
It rained a good chunk of the time we were here, so unfortunately I don’t have too many pictures. We spent our days exploring different neighborhoods, scouring vintage markets and food stands and eating a lot of good food. We had dim sum in a Michelin-rated restaurant located in a train station and even broke down and had Italian. After two weeks of only Asian food, I was ready for a little break and a bowl of pasta and fresh arugula salad really hit the spot.
One of my favorite memories from the trip was coming across an amazing vintage watch that Rob loved and rushing around trying to scrounge up enough money to buy it to find out that the price was actually about 15x the price we thought it was. While we were disappointed at the end, I enjoyed the chase!
Even though it rained a lot here, we loved it and will definitely be back to do all the things we weren’t able to do in the rain! We even said that we could live here if Rob’s job ever took us abroad. Have you been to Hong Kong? Did you love it as much as we did?
