First things first, these best-selling lace-up tassel sandals from Loeffler Randall are back in stock!! They sold out so fast last time, so if you’ve been waiting, now’s your chance before they’re gone again!
Okay, now that I got that announcement off my chest, what’s up? How was everyone’s weekend? As you may have seen, we were in Sonoma this past weekend, soaking up the sunshine and drinking
lots of way too much wine and eating really good food. The past two weeks have been so crazy with travel and the launch of Blogging For Keeps and this trip came at the perfect time. It was nice to unwind and spend some quality time with Rob and two of our best friends!
The trip also really put me in a summer state-of-mind. Chicago has been wavering between totally gorgeous and absolutely disgusting, but at least I think I can say we’re far past the worst of it. This week’s forecast is already looking good. Real good! So, who wants to meet me on the patio for rosé at 5?!
Kidding, well not really. But this outfit that I wore for the second party at the RewardStyle conference has me seriously craving more outdoor time. The theme of the party that night was garden chic and the venue was decorated accordingly. The park was lined with orchid-covered swinging benches and croquet games. The signature drink of the night was topped with a flower too — simply gorgeous! The weather played nice too which was lucky because on the last night, it did not.
But onto what I wore! I got my first pleated skirt a few years ago and I still wear it today. It’s one of those pieces that’s equally as classic as it is versatile! When I spotted this blushy pink pleated skirt at Ann Taylor, I had to snag it! The color is so perfect and acts as a neutral which lets you wear it with anything. I tried it on with this grey tank — once it’s warm enough I’ll be wearing that combo! Ann Taylor does tend to run a bit on the bigger side, and I found that this skirt ran really big. I ended up going down a full size ordering the petite version which is not typical for me (I’m 5’8″). I wanted it to sit at my waist, so that might have been why the sizing seemed a bit off.
I paired it with this fringed sweater tank, also from Ann Taylor (comes in navy too), that I’ve already worn once before on the blog. I love the color and can see myself wearing it with denim shorts throughout the summer months!
No, I don’t work in an traditional office, but I think that this outfit would be ideal for all your office-going ladies! Just pair with some nude pumps and a blazer and you’re good to go! I love when party pieces can double as work wear!
When you buy new pieces, do you make sure they do double duty? Are you looking forward to Friday nights spent on the patio too?
