My 10-year-old self had a closet full of sneakers. No less than 10 pairs—no, I’m not joking. Green, pink, white, black, embroidered and printed. To me, they were, and still are, the finishing touch to any outfit. Somewhere in high school, my collection of stylish sneakers rapidly declined and was replaced with what I deemed to be real sneakers. You know, the kind of athletic variety used for exercising or walking the dog.
It wasn’t until I moved to the city that I realized I was in desperate need of some city sneaks. More like the ones that I’d donned when I was ten. Ones that looked good and felt good and I’ve finally, four years later, found my favorite pair, these from Superga.
After a busy weekend, Rob and I woke up on Sunday wanting to do nothing. We were exhausted from a weekend of floating the river with friends and were in desperate need of R&R before the new week started.
We slept late, made a big breakfast home & then decided that our lazy Sunday should probably include some outdoor activity. The weather was beautiful, sunny skies and just the right amount of warmth, so we leashed up Oliver and went out for a walk in hopes of finding a spot to have lunch on the patio.
I wore a pair of jean shorts, a light floral blouse and these army green Superga sneakers. They shipped for free and came in just a few days after I ordered them on Zappos.com. Thankfully they fit perfectly and I’m in love with this color, not only for fall, but year round! I wasn’t too worried though, Zappos.com has amazing customer service, so if you order the wrong size or change your mind on color, have no fear! They’ll make it right!
The first time I wore them, I was shocked—no blisters, no pain, no rubbing! I swear, that never happens to me. So, easy to say, these city sneakers have not disappointed.
After a short walk, we stopped for a leisurely lunch on the patio at one of our neighborhood favorites—Beatrix. Oliver got lots of love from the other diners—no question why—and we had a tasty lunch and juice before heading home and getting back to our very lazy Sunday.
What do your Sundays usually look like? What shoes do you live in?
