This past weekend, my college bestie, Caroline, aka, Lockwood came to visit us in Chicago. One thing I always love about her visits is that she typically decides to go about two weeks before which makes it seem to spur of the moment and extra fun!

This visit was no different. Since she had already been to Chicago a few times, we could skip the touristy things and just hang out. Friday we went downtown to have lunch with Rob. We picked up Hannah’s Bretzel, so delicious, and ate in Exelon Plaza. It was such a beautiful day, we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. Later we stopped at the beach, but it ended up being a tad bit chilly, but relaxing nonetheless.

Over the weekend we made our way to Wicker Park for brunch at the Nosh food festival and then to Northside for drinks before going out that night. We spent so much time walking and being outside this weekend thanks to the amazing weather.

Monday, Caroline and I went out for one last brunch at one of my favorites, Southport Grocery and shopped around before it was time for her to head to the airport. We had such a blast and I was so glad she made the trip out to see us. Since she lives in a small town in Texas, we don’t get to see each other very often, but it was a blast and I’m already looking forward to our next meeting.

Nothing like college friends and great memories! I am so glad that y’all got to spend the weekend together! We need to do a mother/daughter weekend in Chicago sometime! I am jealous of your “chilly” weather!

Just stopping by to say ‘hi!’ — I found you from a comment you left on The Everygirl at the bottom of a feature on a fellow TCU grad. Go Frogs! :) It’s good to see so many of us out here in the interwebs. :)

I look really good in that picture. I mean, it’s like they always say, “3 chins are better than 1″
