The Most Impressive Puffer Jacket I’ve Ever Worn
When I’m sitting in bed at night setting my alarm for the next morning, the thought of waking up early always crosses my mind. Should I get up earlier tomorrow and get my day started on a productive note?! The thought of taking Oliver for an early morning walk while the city is still quiet, and watching the sun rising over the lake sounds like a really peaceful way to start my day. And, to get home before Rob even wakes up and have the quiet house to myself for a bit would be amazing! A relaxing, quiet start to my day would surely put me in a good mood. But, do I actually get up?
Nope, I sure don’t. To be honest, it’s rare that I even attempt that early wake up call, and if I do, I usually roll over, turn it off and rely on Rob’s alarm to wake me up in an hour. As much as I would love to be a morning person and enjoy that quiet time, coffee in hand, before the day really starts, it’s never come naturally, though I did give it an honest shot a few years ago!
It’s even harder in the winter. Thankfully we have daylights savings, which makes it a bit easier to rise. But, knowing that the cold, or even rain and snow, are waiting for me outside makes me want to stay in bed for a few more hours. I just got this new puffer jacket from Bernardo, and it’s making my mornings infinitely better (and warmer)! I bought my first puffer jacket when I moved to Chicago, so I was happy to upgrade to a new one this year. I have a closet full of coats and jackets, but this one is my go-to for the chilliest days!
This quilted long coat with down and PrimaLoft® fill is longer, warmer and more stylish than my previous coat! For ordering reference, I’m 5’8″ and I’m wearing a size small. It fits really well, but is still roomy enough to wear layers underneath, and best of all, Bernardo’s puffer coats are really affordable! The color, as you guys know, is one of my favorites this year. It has a hood that’s a must for snowy days, but my favorite feature might be the fleece-lined pockets. My hands are always freezing and when I’m walking Oliver, gloves alone are never enough. Sticking my hands in these cozy pockets feels lovely on those really cold days—they’re so warm and soft!
I can’t exactly say this coat is teaching me how to be a morning person, but it sure makes the mornings more enjoyable! Who knows, maybe I’ll give it another shot this week. Though I’m not an early riser, I’m not really a night owl either. I used to be though! I’d be on a coding hot streak and work into the wee hours of the night. I loved how quiet the house would be at that time, but best of all, no one else was awake or emailing me, so I could work without interruption.
Those nights were always kind of fun, but I’m happy that I’ve fallen into a regular sleep cycle over the past year. In general, I have more energy and feel more rested during the week. That’s always a good thing, right?
Do you rise with the sun or stay up late? If you live in a cold climate, what’s the best puffer jacket or winter coat you’ve owned?
