Ever since Jack started daycare, I’ve been pretty bad about getting out and exercising. I quickly realized how silly this was because I now had infinitely more time for myself now that I have 4 days to myself, so I challenged myself to do something active for 2 weeks, because if you do something consistently, that’s when you really form habits. This habit, is one that I already know makes me feel better!
Two weeks later, I can say that I feel amazing! And, plan to keep it up as much as possible. Every day, I’ve gone on a 30-minute walk (sometimes longer) and done a MWH workout or a MyX Fitness bike ride, or something else active—for example, one day we walked around the zoo in the heat for 2 hours while pushing a double stroller. I counted that for sure!
One thing I quickly realized is that I don’t have a lot of workout shorts. I love my biker shorts from Amazon, but sometimes I just don’t want to wear something tight. I have a few pairs of these running shorts from Lululemon, but, they’re really low cut. And, most of my tops are a little cropped because I usually am wearing them with high-waisted leggings.
Can you see my problem?
Crop tops with low-waisted, short shorts. I was feeling like I was in middle school all over again! I’ve been wanting to try out Free People Movement for so long, and finally ordered a few things. One thing I love about them is that while they’re all activewear, they don’t look quite as active. They’re cute and I love wearing them on the weekends and to the park with the boys as well as wearing them for my workouts.
Free People Movement Activewear Favorites
Here’s what I got and my thoughts on each piece:
The Way Home Shorts
I can’t believe I waited so long to get these, I LOVE these shorts so much! I’ve worn these so many times this past 2 weeks. I just bought them in a few more colors. At $30 and soooo many cool colors, it’s a no-brainer. The pair I have on here is
Tap in Layering Top
Obsessed is an understatement. I love a light layer like this, and this one is so flattering too. It’s super soft, has the little thumb holes and a hood. I just ordered this in the teal too. It doesn’t normally look crumbled over the chest, but Rob failed to tell me it was bunched up before snapping a photo—typical!
Good Karma Leggings
These leggings were really cute, I love the fabric and fit, but they run small. A common theme I found with Free People activewear! I ended up returning these, and might order in the future, but the truth is that I have SO many leggings so I’m going to hold off for now.
Pandora Pullover
I love this cropped pullover sweatshirt. It’s a great light layer for the early fall days, or these chillier mornings. I love that this is nicer than my average sweatshirt, so I could totally go from a workout to coffee with a friend without changing.
Play by Play Tank
Love this simple tank, it’s lightweight and the open back is great. I got a small which fits, but I could have easily ordered up a size.
Cut it Out Long Sleeved Top
We’re starting to get cooler weather in the morning and in the evening, so I just grabbed this long sleeve top to try. I’ll report back! I did go with the M/L because I realized a lot of their activewear runs on the smaller side.
BTW, 6 benefits of daily movement, and the best Amazon activewear under $48.
