November 21, 2017 Living Well What are You Most Thankful for This Year? What a year! It’s crazy to think that this time last year we were in Dallas celebrating Thanksgiving with our ever-growing family. My sister and cousin had both recently gotten married. Which meant we had multiple new family members around the table that year. In fact, there were so many people there, my mom had to break it into two tables just so everyone could fit! Even after Thanksgiving was over, the family stopped by to hang out, eat leftovers, watch football and relax together for the rest of the week. I’ve always been a big fan of Thanksgiving, but last year’s was definitely one of my all-time favorites! There’s just something really awesome about being with your siblings when you’re grown up. The fussing and arguing about little things is pretty much gone, and everyone just enjoys each other’s company. Well, at least in my case—my sisters and I are best friends and thankfully our husbands and boyfriends all get along as well! This year’s Thanksgiving looks very different though! And as much as I loved last year’s get-together, this year’s Thanksgiving is pretty damn special too. Looking back to last year, I would have had no idea how different this Thanksgiving would be. It’s crazy—here we are—now a family of three! Since we’ve got a newborn on our hands, we’re not traveling for Thanksgiving and are lucky enough to have family that’s willing to come to us! It’ll be crowded in our tiny apartment. Still, I’m so looking forward to just having everyone together for a few days! I’m also looking forward to other people holding the baby for a bit so I can sneak off and get a few hours of sleep! Hopefully I can show my gratitude by making at least one meal for them while they’re here! We have so so so much to be thankful for this year. But most of all, I’m grateful for this little family of mine. Rob has already been so amazing, sensitive and patient and seeing him hold our son is seriously the best thing ever. These sweet little moments just fill my heart (and sometimes my eyes with tears) and I’m doing my best to soak it all up! What are you most thankful for this year? Where and with who are you celebrating Thanksgiving? I hope that you have a fun Thanksgiving planned and that if you’re traveling, you stay safe! BTW, can being thankful make you happier, and how to wear velvet this holiday. SaveSave
