Ceremony & Chicago History Museum
The ceremony was a bit of a blur, so I’m extra thankful for these pictures that remind me of all the sweet moments. It was amazing to be surrounded by all of your friends and family, but also difficult to know where to look. I did my best to soak it all in, but at first, I was really just trying not to cry too hard — happy tears of course!
The ceremony itself was perfect and beautiful and Rev. Dave did an incredible job of telling our story. After exchanging vows, rings and sealing the deal, we strolled down to celebratory music and hid in the bridal suite to just take a moment to ourselves. The weirdest realization was that 30 minutes ago we weren’t married, and now we were! We had a glass of prosecco and some snacks before heading outside to spend time with our guests.
Before we went outside, I had to take a sneak peek of the room being flipped for the ceremony. The table settings, flowers and candles were absolutely stunning and exactly what I had hoped for! Stems and Food for Thought and Amy Beck Cakes created such a beautiful and serene setting! And if weren’t for Nicole, I don’t know how any of this really could have been pulled off — my mom and I were so thankful for her and the LK Events team.
I was thrilled that we decided on the Chicago History Museum for our venue. Since neither of us are from here, it was special to us because Chicago has become the place that we call home and is where our relationship grew and blossomed. If you’re looking for wedding venue ideas, I highly recommend checking out local museums in your area. For us, it added a really unique touch and some Chicago flair as well as a unique space and beautiful decor that was already built in.
