I’m sure you remember being asked this question when you were little and the answers back then we’re always something like ‘a fireman’ or ‘an astronaut’ — things we’d seen on TV or in books that looked exciting and heroic. I loved the beach and I spent a lot of my time snorkeling and collecting shells and then identifying the fish and shells with pamphlets that my grandparents had given us, so, naturally, I decided that I wanted to be a marine biologist.
