I’m so excited to share with you guys the project I’ve been working on with Anthropologie today! Anthro is one of my all time favorite brands and has been for years, so I was extremely flattered and excited when they asked me to style three looks that will take you from day to night with nothing but a change of shoes.
Winter in Chicago is rough. Especially when you grew up in Texas and heat and sunshine are what you expect. When I moved to Chicago three years ago I was definitely worried about how I would handle the freezing temperatures, mounds of snow and bone-chilling winds. During my first winter, there would be days where I didn’t even leave the house — so depressing, right? So, yeah, winter gets old fast and it always lasts too long.
On the flip side, it’s given me such an appreciation for all of the other seasons, summer especially. I would never have imagined one could be so grateful for sunshine and warm weather! When it’s finally nice out, you better believe we take full advantage.
One of the biggest differences in my daily agenda during summer is getting dressed. I find that dressing in something that works from day to night is essential. When Rob and I have plans or impromptu patio parties happen, it’s best to already be ready to go. Wearing an outfit that works from day to night saves me time getting ready and allows me more time to enjoy friends and family.
During the day, I sit at my desk a lot, so flat sandals are my go to choice for footwear. They’re also perfect for running quick errands, going to photo shoots, and yes, walking Oliver. Most importantly, they don’t leave my feet hurting before the night even starts. When it comes time to head out the door, I like looking a little fancier and pulled together. Plus I love the way a good pair of wedges or heels makes my legs look and how they make me feel. Confidence is the key accessory in a great outfit, am I right?! So let’s get on to these three looks!
The best part about this post, it’s not really done! I’m over on Anthropologie’s blog today too. If you’ve never checked it out, it’s amazing. They’re always featuring inspiring women, tasty recipes and home decor. So, make sure to pop over there to check it out and see more photos from these three looks, as well as tips on how to get the perfect day-to-night look this summer!
