Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. Chicago goes from being cold and gray to sunny and cheery as soon as the weather allows. All the flowers and trees start blooming and people start spending more and more of their day outside on patio cafes and wandering the city. It’s the best!
I finally get to pack up my winter clothes and start pulling out warm weather favorites. I stopped by H&M a few weeks ago and picked up this ’70s inspired outfit. This pleated and buttoned midi skirt is the perfect combination of casual and comfortable.
I’m also obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops right now and this one is so fun! It’s sort of sheer and looks so cute with a bandeau underneath — it’ll be perfect for Lollapalooza, too! The best part? The whole look is under $150, including the shoes! If you haven’t had a chance to check out H&M’s new spring arrivals, make sure you do!
Another upside of the warmer weather is that I find myself spending more and more time outside of the house. That means longer walks for Oliver and more days spent at one of my favorite places in the city — The Allis at Soho House.
West Loop as a whole is one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of Chicago. It has so many great restaurants, bars and coffee shops. For working during the week, The Allis is perfect. The lobby is so beautiful and you can sit and have a meal or just grab a coffee and pastry. A lot of creatives frequent this spot, which makes it an extra inspiring place to get work done.
If you’re visiting Chicago, you absolutely must make a stop in West Loop. A few of my other favorite spots around here are City Winery, Lone Wolf, Little Goat, Bar Siena and Parlor.
What’s the biggest change in your schedule once the temperature has warmed up in your city? What trends are you looking forward to this spring?
