White Shirt Dress
Before I left for my trip to Mexico, I went to the christening of the Chicago Elite yacht and the night after I went to the NoMi Garden Party at the Park Hyatt. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect that night — at one point, I even got HOT. The party itself had some of the most beautiful cocktails I’d ever seen and a huge spread of really tasty snacks.
When it comes to dressing for events like this, I like to keep things simple. White is one of my favorite things to wear in
summer year round. I’m actually a litle embarrassed by how many white shirts I own, but I love that they’re so versatile. I like to think of them as a blank canvas. So naturally, when I saw this white laced poplin swing dress at Anthropologie last week, I knew I had to have it. To keep white from getting boring, buy pieces with texture, or a pattern, or has a unique cut. This dress has a little of all those things! I love the cut-out back paired with the full lacy skirt and tailored neckline.
I spent the night catching up with Jess, Kelly, Jenn, Nicole and Arin and indulging in rose, champagne (yes, both, oops) and grilled bread and unique cheeses. Little know fact about me? I could live on cheese, bread and wine — I think a house in Sonoma could be in my future. Well, at least my dreams!
The NoMi Garden party was the perfect way to kick off the start of summer and I’m already looking forward to more patios and a lot more white!
