My Latest Obsession: The Long Cardigan

I used to be really averse to cardigans. They never fit me right and frankly made me feel like I was borrowing clothes from some old librarian’s closet. But the past few months, I’ve really changed my opinion on the subject! All the cardigans that I’ve been coming across lately don’t look anything like those terrible ole things I remembered from middle school and are in fact, pretty dang adorable.

I’ve even invested in a few now, including this one from today’s look, and the one thing they all have in common is that they’re long. I styled my other cardigan in this post from a few weeks ago and I love that one too! Now that it’s freezing, these have been the perfect layering piece and look so casual and effortless! Don’t ya think?

So, what to wear with a cardigan? Lately, it’s been anything from a basic tees, plaid buttoned shirts and even dresses — so versatile! My sister had on this same dress over Christmas and I fell in love! Thankfully it’s on sale and I snagged it up at the sale price. I’d order a size up than normal as the head hole is a bit tight! I paired the rest of my look with basic accessories like this bag and a pair of over the knee boots so the cardigan could take center stage. Who would have ever guessed that the statement piece would be a cardigan?!
