Two weekends ago, my mom and sisters flew in from all across the country to throw me a baby shower. It was amazing! I’ll warn you now, there are lots of photos, but I was having a hard time narrowing it down, so I hope you don’t mind! It’s crazy to think we’re less than 6 weeks from my due date and the shower really made it all feel so real.
We hadn’t done much shopping other than getting a crib and dresser, so after this weekend, I felt far more prepared! I made a huge Amazon order last week and now it’s time to just get everything organized and set up. Rob says all we need is a baby, but there’s still plenty that needs to get done before his arrival. The countdown is on!
My baby shower was really laid-back, which was just perfect for me. To be honest, I hate having the attention on me, so I’m glad that we decided to throw it in the comfort of my little home. My mom and sisters planned the rest of the party and it was simple and perfect!
To keep with the easy theme, they ordered quiche and salad from one of my favorites, Floriole. Everything was ready and all we had to do on the day of was heat up the quiches and put them on pretty plates. We picked up a few bunches of hydrangeas and we were done!
The highlight of the spread was easily the desserts that were generously provided by Bittersweet Pastry Shop & Bakery. There was a selection of bite sizes treats and the most beautiful cookies to give guests as party favors! The watercolored cookies matched the invitations from Minted perfectly too! If you have any parties coming up and need sweets, I highly recommend them! Everything was completely delicious!
We opened gifts, which was really fun, even though I hate when everyone is looking at me, ha! Usually I feel bad making people watch open gifts, but baby goodies are so cute and adorable! We got several fox onesies–so appropriate! We also now have a good collection of books, sheets, and towels. Plus, more of the essentials like diapers, wipes and burp clothes. My mom got me this gorgeous diaper bag and I cannot wait to use it. My grandma sent the funny pillow door hang that says “Party My Room 2am,” it’s hilarious, but will be all too real soon enough!
Even though it was mid-September, we were having a serious heat wave, so the fall outfit I had planned got put back on the closet and instead I wore this dress that was loose, flowy and fit over the bump perfectly.
This past weekend, I spent a few hours washing all our new goodies and setting up the crib with sheets. I really got into nesting mode. I guess when you’re 5 and a half weeks out, it’s not a bad idea to start finishing up these things!
I’m so thankful to all of my sweet friends and family that joined us to celebrate Baby Staky. It was such a fun and perfect afternoon. It made me even more excited for our little guy to arrive!
