When I’m browsing my favorite Instagram accounts, I find myself wondering what a day in these women’s lives really looks like. Of course, the prettiest, best and perfectly styled moments are the ones that are typically all we see, I know that it doesn’t look like that all the time. I think as readers we have some idea that all the top bloggers just sleep late, drink coffee in bed, eat lunch at cute sidewalk cafes and drink rose on rooftops — all while Instagramming and snapping pictures in between. The reality, and I think most bloggers would agree, is that this is not what’s happening at all! Well, at least not for the majority of us, so get ready to be underwhelmed.

Since I work for myself, I don’t really schedule out my days, which I should probably reconsider since I feel like a crazy lady most of the time. One thing that’s always the same though, is my morning walk with Oliver. Lately, I’ve been waking up early to take him out to get a jump start on my day and it’s been really nice! I really savor the cool air and quiet streets before the day starts.

After I get home I make breakfast and coffee and eat while scheduling posts social media and checking emails. The next step is the defining moment in the rest of my day. I either decide to clean up, get dressed and put makeup on, or I stay in yoga pants and work like that all day. Sad, but true. When no boss is checking in on you, it can be hard to resist taking those comfy pants off.

My mornings consist of answering emails, working on design projects and editing photos. The afternoons are filled with writing and usually more designing. The thing I really love about being a blogger is that the regular work week is periodically interrupted with fun photo shoots or other blogging projects. It breaks up the week and makes it feel more creative and fulfilling which is really important to me.

What does your average day look like? How do you break up the week to make time for things you enjoy?
