I don’t about your city, but it is definitely feeling like fall in Chicago! The leaves are slowly turning yellow and the air is crisp and cool and earlier this week we even turned on the heat for a couple of hours. Crazy, right?! I’ve been finding any excuse to try out a new soup or pumpkin recipe (both are coming soon) and have been enjoying a warm cup of tea in the afternoon as my day winds down.
I love this season so much and I can also tell that Oliver is happier with the cooler temps too! Shibas are fluffy and the summer is tough on him even after he’s shed mountains of fur. Not he’s much more active and playful on his walks which I love to see!
One of the best parts about this season is getting dressed. I think fall style is probably my favorite. It’s cozy, comfortable and makes me feel like I don’t have a care in the world (which isn’t so true). I’ve started pulling out my flats, vests and sweaters and wearing them any chance I can get it. In reality, I should should savor the last of summer clothes a little longer since winter is so long, but I’m ignoring that thought.
When I first moved to Chicago, I was seriously lacking in the sweater department, so stocking up on sweaters that weren’t terribly expensive was a must! Since then I’ve gone through quite a few, but I wear them nearly everyday when it’s cold, so I like to be able to mix it up.
