Why We All Need Girl Dates
Last Wednesday I had a girl date with one of my best friends, Shaheen. When we first became friends we made a pretty regular point to get brunch once a week, catch up and really get to know each other. With busy summer schedules, we hadn’t done anything like this in a while and were long overdue!
We hopped over to West Loop to shoot a few looks, changing in alley ways and in the car (this is what happens behind the scenes, eek!). I’m also pretty sure we accidentally flashed a couple of workmen in between shoots — oops!
While snapping these pictures by this cool wall, we ran into the artist that painted it. He was so nice and ended up giving us an impromptu tour of the inside of Fulton Market Kitchen where a lot of his pieces are housed. Has anyone been there to eat? It looks so cool inside and now I really want to go back and try it!
I have to admit that I’m a bit obsessed with this look. I picked up this long duster vest and this new turtleneck striped top just last week and I’ve already worn them several times — you know you got something good when you find yourself wearing it on repeat! This gorgeous woven bucket bag from Welden is also new. It’s super spacious for a bucket bag and carry all my regular stuff as well as my camera which is a plus! It comes in a couple of different colors too, but I decided on black because it’s so versatile and surprisingly enough, I don’t really have a lot of black pieces.
The rest of our afternoon was equally as hilarious and fun. We had lunch and a glass of wine at City Winery. You guys, the burrata here is to. die. for. We’ve already talked about going back and getting it again — so good!
I was so glad we finally got around to making a day like this happen. It was just what I needed last week. Aren’t girlfriends the very best?!
