When I picture the place that Rob and I will live, I envision a cozy place full of textures, colors, patterns, Oliver and an amazing view of Chicago. And for whatever reason, two rugs are on my mind as completing this perfect little place. A Turkish kilim to go under our (hopefully) handmade dining room table and a flokati wool rug that’s fluffy, neutral, but has a fairly simple pattern to it.

To be quite honest, I would be absolutely thrilled to call all of the above pictures my home. There’s something about the layering of texture and patterns, modern and antique furniture, and organic and structured pieces that makes these places seem just perfect. Well, for me at least.

Anyway, I’ve been scouring the internet for the perfect kilim and while I haven’t come across one that I’m totally sold on, this one and this one are closer to the color scheme that I’m looking for, but I’d really love some more pink and blue in it!

As for the flokati, I’m pretty much set on anything that resembles this one.
