In one week, Chicago has done a 180. It went from being kind of cold, dead plants and grey skies to sunshine, green grass and flowers everywhere almost overnight! It’s crazy what just a few warm days can do for the city.

All the sunshine has really kicked my butt into gear and I’ve knocked out so many house projects on our list. It’s so nice to feel really settled just a week after moving. We’re waiting on some outdoor furniture for our front patio (just ordered these chairs and this outdoor rug), but other than that, we’re feeling very at home. I’m planning on sharing some of our spaces in the near future—are there any rooms/spaces in particular you guys want to see?

A few weeks ago, actually, it’s probably been over a month now, but anyway, I went to girls dinner with Kelly, Shaheen and Jess at Athenian Room. If you haven’t been there, it’s a must! It’s really casual, but the food is amazing! Fun fact, it’s one of Tina Fey’s favorite spots in Chicago. It was one of the first warm-fish days in Chicago, so I wore fewer layers and pulled out this super cute ruffle, bell-sleeve eyelet top I’d picked earlier this year.

If you take a peek in my closet, I have a lot of white and there’s good reason—it’s one of my favorite colors to wear, especially in the summer! I love how crisp and clean they look, and love it even more when the piece has cute details like embroidery or eyelet that makes a simple white top extra special. They’re just so sweet and feminine in my opinion!

Pretty White Tops & Pieces for Summer

The top I’m wearing here is definitely one the trendier side, but I love the fun sleeves, ruffles and Victorian-style neckline. I’ll be wearing it with my denim shorts and sandals over the summer too.

These pictures are making me realize that it’s time for us to get another girls dinner together before several months go by again! Jess shared some of her favorite spots for girls’ night here, so I guess we’ll just work down that list!
