July 16, 2015 Food & Drink Memories of La Marca Last Sunday, Chicago graced us with some truly unbelievable weather! It’s been waffling between overcast and cold to warm and simply gorgeous, so I was thrilled to wake up to sunshine and warmth on the morning of the La Marca and Gilt City Brunch. The brunch was set at the Greenhouse Loft in Logan Square and it had such a unique outdoor patio space that connected seamlessly with a beautiful light-filled banquet room that was filled with blue and white flowers and decor — stunning! We sipped tasty prosecco cocktails and mini bottles of La Marca outdoors before enjoying a coursed brunch. My favorite of the courses was most definitely this crab and watermelon salad — still craving it! While the brunch itself was amazing, it also brought up some very happy memories for me. If you’re a newer reader, you may not know that Rob and I got married just last summer and we’re actually coming up on our one year anniversary. It’s pretty crazy how fast the time has flown by! We got married in the second city and had our ceremony and reception at the Chicago History Museum. La Marca holds an extra special place in my heart, not only because I love prosecco and their gorgeous blue packaging, but it was the prosecco that we served at our wedding. It was the only beverage I requested for the night and I let Rob and my parents select the other stuff. I already knew that I’d be drinking bubbly all night, so I didn’t really care what else we had! Of course La Marca is the perfect accompaniment for special occasions, but I also find it to be pretty amazing for celebrating everyday. Why save the good stuff for the special things?! Isn’t every day worth being thankful for? Whether you’re serving brunch to friends or just having your gals over for a casual girls night, a little bubbly can make it just that much more fun! The mini bottles are perfect for one person and look pretty adorable as table settings too. This La Marca and Gilt City brunch was good reminder of how special our wedding night was — can we do it again? Just the eating, drinking and dancing parts would be perfectly fine by me! I’ll be picking up a bottle of La Marca for July 26 so we can relive our wedding night with a glass of prosecco and a slice of wedding cake (hopefully it’s still good)! Do you have any thing like this that bring up special memories for you?
