Sort of Summer
Lately, the weather in Chicago has been incredibly, err, bizarre. We’ll have a sunny weekend with 70 degree temperatures followed by a full week of 40 degree weather, fog and rain. I won’t lie, it’s frustrating, but looking on the bright side, it does make me take advantage of the good days!
Two Sundays back we had one of those beautiful days. We had a list of errands to run and chores to do around the house, but we then we looked at each other with that same look, like ‘chores can wait, right?!’. So we put the chores and errands aside, leashed up Oliver and walked over to one of our favorite patios downtown, Howells & Hood. I love that they’re dog friendly, which means the whole family can come!
I wore a casual maxi dress, a light jacket and my new beek sandals. I was going through my spring stuff a few weeks ago and realized that I didn’t have any flat sandals that I really loved, so I was so excited to discover this brand. The company was started by two best friends (love that!) and each purchase gives a meal to a child in need. The 100% leather shoes are handmade and have a unique molded sole that makes them extra comfortable. I recommend ordering a size up as they run a bit on the small side!
We hung out on the patio for a couple of hours with refreshing drinks and Oliver curled up by our feet. He loves going to the patio because he gets so much attention, ha!
I’m crossing my fingers that Chicago figures it out soon and that we can kiss winter goodbye for good so I can fully transition my wardrobe and keep wearing these adorable shoes.
Has summer arrived in your city? What is your go-to footwear for warm weather?
