October 17, 2017 Be Well Challenge Health & Happiness Challenge No. 7 A Beautiful Mess You know what’s crazy? My due date is in about 3 weeks. Sometimes it feels like I’ve been pregnant forever. Other times I’m wondering how the heck it’s already this close to being over. With my due date just ahead, it’s been the perfect motivation to get the last things on our to-do list finished. We got a car for the first time in six years, took a labor and delivery class, and the nursery is pretty much complete (and looks so cute)! Even though we’ve made major strides, there’s still several random house projects that need to be finished. No, it won’t really make a difference if they’re done before the baby comes, but it keeps me distracted and busy, so why not?! This brings me to today’s wellness challenge, which is maybe a bit selfish because I’m hoping it motivates me to finish up my own house projects too! Health & Happiness Challenge No. 7 Finish a Project Are you up for this challenge? If you’re like me, you have at least one little project you could complete over the weekend! Maybe more? My list includes hanging up a few last minute pieces of art, taking boxes to the dumpster, switching out lightbulbs around the house and tidying up our entryway. I know it sounds silly, but it’s almost like they’re so easy that I just keep putting them off. Every time I walk by them, I think, “Oh yeah! I need to get that done soon!” and never actually do it. It’s easy to put the “small things” on the backburner, but before you know it, there are so many small things it becomes a bit more daunting. I’m hoping that by finishing up a few of these small house projects my mind will be put at ease. Then I can just focus on enjoying these last few weeks before the baby arrives! And, if he decides to come early, I know I’ll be so happy they’re finished! So, this week and weekend I’m challenging myself to actually finish those last few things because if they don’t happen now, who knows when they will happen!
