This past weekend, I finished my fabulous Sunday morning with brunch at Toast with my good friend Livi. Helllllo, pesto scramble! After lounging in my sweatpants for a few hours, I decided I needed to look presentable in public and threw on a plaid shirt, sweater, skinnies and riding boots — my go-to winter uniform of sorts.
With the never-ending cold in Chicago, coming up with ways to pile on layers and layers without looking like a marshmallow has become a new hobby. The key for me is to start with a few thinner layers and throw on a chunky looser knit sweater on top. Boots and a cozy scarf are clearly a must. The only downside I find in wearing all these layers is what to do with them once you’re inside the toasty warm restaurant.
P.S. Thanks to Livi for playing photographer, she’s a natural!
