Last Friday we went to the opening of Fig & Olive in Chicago. It’s located on one of my favorite streets to (window) shop, Oak Street. We sipped Veuve, snacked on tasty little bites and checked out some pieces from Lanvin that were being modeled.
I wore this Solar Spells Dress from French Connection for the summery celebration. The dress had its debut at my bachelorette party — details here and here — and loved it so much that I pulled out again! I love how the pleats make the skirt swing when you walk. It’s girly, flirty and comfortable all at the same time. The colors make tanned skin look even better and the little cut out gives it a modern touch. I paired it with simple off white heels and a cross body bag. Sometimes keeping it simple turns out the best!
Back to the party at hand! The restaurant space was just plain cool. The second floor housed the main dining area and large bar complete with trees in the middle. The third floor had an outdoor patio, smaller bar and more dining space. It was bright and airy and full of natural light thanks to the massive sky light. I’m already looking forward to coming back for a full meal at Fig & Olive.
